These are a Few of my Favorite Things (updated 2025)
Thirty-plus years ago I felt alone when I questioned the plural marriage doctrine. Today there are countless places to find research, scriptural insights, and confirmation that polygamy is a creation of men, not endorsed by God.
If you’ve been living under a rock or following Church guidelines to only view correlated materials, you may be unaware of the wealth of information, including historical documents that are available online. Here are a few of my favorite polygamy-related podcasts or websites that rely on scripture, historical research, and logic. They lead me to, not away from God.
Current Channels or Websites:
Is Polygamy Biblical? Doris Hansen was born in the Kingston branch of polygamists. Her short book shows how this evil teaching is not biblical. More information is available on this site.
Answering Atheists: Does the Bible Endorse Polygamy? - 119 Ministries This video looks at all the polygamy-related Bible verses and explains why they are often mistakenly interpreted.
Sunday Musings Podcast Connor Boyack, a man who logically explores many Church related topics, occasionally muses about whether Joseph was a polygamist. This July 2025 episode was an outstanding overview of the history and the problems with plural marriage.
Rob Fatheringham His videos cover church history and present the sources to back up his claims. Several look at polygamy and share a much different story than what we were told.
Still Mormon In these very professional videos, Jeremy Hoop looks carefully at the polygamy-related history based on extensive research into the historical documents.
Wo Unto You Scribes, the Hidden History of Polygamy Karen Hyatt’s video puts together much of the history we haven’t seen in one video. Her website has the same information in a pdf format.
Gwendolyn Wyne Her videos have lots of information and profound conclusions. She tells the important story that Satan made polygamy a part of his game plan from the beginning.
Unauthorized Polygamemes These short, entertaining videos hit on the absurdity of this history and doctrine.
The Journal of Mormon Polygamy This site also has a YouTube channel. They present scholarly papers on polygamy.
I Believe Joseph This channel goes into the history with sources and some occasional sarcasm to keep it interesting.
Reasons to Rescind Although my videos aren’t professional and don’t go deep into the history, this is my website so I can recommend them. In each of my short videos I present something I haven’t seen elsewhere.
Oldies but Goodies
Hemlock Knots This website looks carefully at historical research and scriptures on various topics, including polygamy. Mormon Polygamy Timeline of Events and Reactions to Polygamy are among several important posts and videos.
D&C 132: A revelation of men, not God Posted in 2015, this was the subject of a rebuttal by FAIR and resulted in the excommunication of the author, Kirk Van Allen. His wife, Lindsay, wrote a response to FAIR’s rebuttal.
Why I’m Abandoning Polygamy Rock Waterman explained the problem and provided some context back in 2010 when there was less online-research available. I liked the way he said it then and I still like it now.
No Longer Easily Available
132 Problems: Revisiting Mormon Polygamy I miss Michelle Stone’s podcast. She used her massive amounts of research to tear down every aspect of this abominable whoredom.
Iron Rod Podcast As a lazy learner, this podcast helped me to change. The scriptures are key to confirming truth. They are more important than the words of men, our feelings, or what we believe is inspiration. Thanks to the Uncorrelated Mormonism website for making these episodes available. (I wormed my way onto episode 175 which covered Section 132).
